The Arizona Chapter of the ACC has created the following committees to address issues of importance to the Chapter. Each committee is listed below with its chair, members and purpose. Chapter Committee Assignments Advocacy/Government Relations - Areas to address: Tort reform, third party reimbursement, “bad apple” expert witness reporting mechanism Gary Kaufman, MD, FACC Chair Andrei Damian, MD, FACC Education - Areas to address: Annual meeting, CTA imaging issues Robert Scott, MD, PhD, FACC Co-Chair Brenda Peart, MD, FACC Co-Chair 3rd Party/Contractor Advisory Committee (CAC)- Facilitate communications to the membership from quarterly CAC meetigs whe CV data is presented. Peter Maki, MD, FACC Chair Andrei Damian, MD, FACC Cardiac Care Associate (CCas) Chair - Encourage new memberships and attendance at regional meetings during 2009. Carrie Solodky, ND, ANP-C Fellows in Training (FIT) Chair - Encourage participation in regional meetings. Nicholas Kalayeh, MD Chair Budget & Finance - Encourage transparency of financial status. Gary Kauffman, MD, FACC Chair ArMA Nathan Laufer, MD, CM, FACC Chair AHA/Mission Lifeline - Work with Arizona ACC staff and AHA staff to help establish formal regional systems of care. Suzanne Sorof, MD, FACC Chair Newsletter/Media/Communications - Ensures the membership is fully educated of our activities and successes via quarterly newsletters, website and other pertinent communication.
